And in reality, he was coming home most nights and doing homework (online schooling) and then he wanted to be with his friends because he "never saw them". He was counting the fact that we slept in the same bed every night as "time together". Over the years, I had made him my entire world. Through therapy FOR US BOTH, but mostly separately; we've discovered why he was pushing me away and why I felt neglected. What you are going through isn't your fault or hers; there is something missing from you both that each of you think you are still giving, but aren't. More than anything, you need to TELL HER that you want to be married. USE THOSE WORDS. don't think you've told her in one way or another or through your actions SAY IT. Make TIME for her, and do the things that you did when you were dating tell her she looks wonderful and hold her without expecting intimacy. Make it a point to talk each night for 15 minutes in bed together just being with each other. It doesn't have to be an AMAZING conversation; it can be dull as hell!!! But make sure she knows that she is your world and you are interested in her and in her day.
